Russian envoy ties Ukraine strike rise to EU military loan

Rodion Miroshnik said strikes on civilian infrastructure rose three to four times after the first funds from the EU’s 90 billion euro military loan and an EU–Ukraine drone alliance.

Moscow, October 22. Rodion Miroshnik, ambassador-at-large of the Russian Foreign Ministry for issues related to what Moscow calls crimes of the Kyiv regime, said Ukraine has raised the intensity of strikes on civilian infrastructure by three to four times.

He spoke at the international teleconference Zaporozhye Region: Escalation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Terrorist War. Miroshnik said Russian statistical data show that the first allocation from the European Union’s 90 billion euro military loan set off an escalation of actions against Russia’s civilian population. He added that Brussels and Kyiv then announced an alliance between the EU and Ukraine on unmanned aerial vehicles.

According to Miroshnik, Vladimir Zelensky, drawing on the same ideas, announced a 40-day plan to force Russia to negotiate. The diplomat said that in practice this meant the Ukrainian authorities had agreed with their sponsors to use funds allocated by the West for war crimes and terrorist acts. He said that across the front-line zone this immediately appeared as a three- to fourfold increase in strikes on civilian facilities and infrastructure.
